1993 320E AUTO IDLE STARTS TO SURGE WHEN "D" IS ENGAGED BUT THE CAR IS FINE WHILE DRIVING,SLOW DOWN AND IT STARTS TO KANGAROO BUT EVEN LIGHT ACCELERATION STOPS IT.GARAGE SUGGESTED A WORN THROTTLE BODY AND/OR WORN TIMING CHAIN BUT AT 118000 MILES I NOT SO SURE.ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM?:surrender:
118k miles is too early for either of those components to be worn out. I'd look at the idle air bypass valve, idle air control valve, or whatever the MBZ correct name is.
