Recently had the right front wheel bearing replaced and while driving home the ASR and ABS lights came on resulting in those systems not working. After stopping and restarting the lights went off and the systems worked. Also when braking there seems to be a "crunching" sound from the front.
The lights will stay off when I first start up and then "sometimes" come on and then seem to reset when the car is restarted. Whats up? The car has 320 000 km's on it.
Just a guess.... but maybe the mechanic got grease on the speed sensor, or chipped a tooth on the ring. Or maybe it's as simple as there being dtc's stored. Maybe he spun a wheel with the key on, w/o the sensor in it's home. If this is a 'cool' shop, he would scan your computer n/c. Sometimes weird stuff happens. Try clearing codes, and if the problem persists, and codes come back, you can most likely trust what 'hard' codes are coming back.
I remember seeing something on either this or another forum and it was fuse related. Check your fuses, sometimes they develop a hairline crack and it will make them play dirty tricks.
