hi every one i just had a problem in which you might be able to help me with, i own a 260E w124 and every time i go over a bump in the road or crack the suspension will make a clonk noise is this normal?
I hear the same noises from time to time on mine. I recently had suspension work done though and had the links in the rear changed, and it had made a dramatic change in handling. So I have been skepticle of the noise being a problem. Has the temperature been super cold? I park on the street in Portland, Maine so my car is practically eternally frozen cold.
Is this "clonk" from the front or rear area? More info will help.

I get a creaking noise from the rear when its less than 30 degrees the first 20 minutes or so the car is used going over speedbumps before everything starts warming up from use.
Ive got the same problem, so getting 4 new shocks, the problem may be a valve in one of the shocks that are noisy which you are encountering, although i do get the creeking noise from the front which is probably just from wear and tear from the hard h&r's springs..
