Accessing Right Side of Transmission

I need to get at the upshift delay switch which is located on the right side of the transmission in my 1995 E320. Is there any way to remove that switch without dropping the transmission? If anyone has done this, please let me know what was involved. I'm okay with the check engine light being on every once in a while telling me that the switch is defective (or at least the vacuum line to it), rather than spending a lot of time and/or dollars to remove and replace it. Thanks all. Bob

I'm not sure about that switch, but I was able to get my kickdown cable out by just dropping the rear mount and lowering the tail housing of the transmission on a jack. The engine mounts have quite a big of "give" in them, and you can get a few inches of extra clearance by lowering the back end of the transmission that way.
