I am looking around for a 300CE and came across a 1992 300ce sportline..
I couldnot figure out what additional good things this car has as compared to a a normal 300ce.
woud appreciate some inpust from people who know these cars..
From a collector's and a price point-of-view, the Sportline is worth more than the regular CE.
Diffferences include:
1) Badging, of course
2) Sport shocks and springs for a lower stance
3) Larger anti-sway bars
4) Faster turning-ratio steering
5) Seats with better bolstering
6) Twin turbo, supercharged V8 (okay, not really this one - sounds good, huh?)
I'd love to find one, but then again, I don't know what I'd do with it if I got it. Nice cars. What color combo, mileage, and price?

Sportline coupes didn't get the sport seats - production was just too low so they got the regular seats.
of all the sportlines, the coupe makes the most sense (though i think the sportline wagons are the coolest -- but i'm admittedly biased, since i love w124 wagons). congrats on the purchase -- you'll be very happy post pics when you have the car!!!

I have a 93 300CE Sportline coupe, and the above is correct, at least through item (5) .
See my web page at http://www.geocities.com/mcantoria/mc-mbz.html for more info:
* Steering: Smaller steering wheel and quicker steering ratios
* Suspension: Stiffer springs/dampers and thicker swaybars
* Wheels/Tires: Wider wheels (7Jx15H2) and tires (205/60R15)
* Seating: Contoured for sporting driving, with firmer thigh support and enhanced side bolstering
* Other: Leather shiftknob; Sportline badging on front fenders and gearshift knob

I don't think that I've ever seen a sportline coupe that had larger seat bolsters - either in the UK, or USA. I know that the german cars had a cloth interior that had bigger bolsters....?
The 190 sportline did have an interior with much larger supports (recaro, I believe...).

If you have sport seats in your coupe they did not come from the factory. Only sedans got sport seats, the same seat as the 500E/E500. As mentioned earlier coupe production was too low to do a sport seat. The coupe seat is different than the sedan because the back rest must lean forward for back seat access. This is why the Sportline option on coupes was about half the cost of that of the sedan.
