Slow A/C blower motor?

Hello all. Thanks for viewing this. An 89 300E blower didn't run at all for a while. I lived with it during autumn. Now with winter, I need it repaired. Picked up a junk yard blower regulator. Now the blower spins, but very slowly, but at least now it's spinning. When I attach the blower to the battery directly, it spins very fast. I cleaned up the 30 amp fuse (aluminum), no change. I notice that the unit that directs heated water to heater core makes noise that I had never noticed. Any thoughts?

Got a regulator from MBParts.com for $238.00. That was $250.00 less than dealer. Works perfectly.

It is so labor intensive to replace the blower and or regulator than when you do, you're better off getting a new part instead of some junk yard one.
