AM I the only one concern about the spark plug that are obsolete.
NGK-TR5 are the sparkplugs I have on my car. They have been installed by a Foreign car repair place.(they probably couldn't find the OEM)
Some of you here are telling us to use NGK as a replacement for the now not available h9dc.
here is the description of ngk-tr5:
14mm, .708"(18mm) reach, 5/8" hex, tapered seat, resistor, projected tip, V-power (v-grooved center electrode), .039"gapNGK's unique V-Power design directs the spark to the edge of the electrode where it develops more rapidly, this increases ignitability even in lean burn conditions. In addition the NGK V-Power plug has all the features of their traditional plugs including corrugated ribs, pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator for greater strength and better heat transfer, copper core and triple interior seal.
According to NGK these are direct replacement for H9DC.
but as you can see in the description they are resistor plugs!
Can someone please explain? can we really use this NGK Plug.
I found H9DCO at Mercedes Dealer about 75 miles from where I live. Kind of a long way to get Spark plugs.
