the night lighting for my climate control seems to be burnt out, how does one fix this?
i have taken off the wood cover, and it looks like there are two bulbs under some electrical tape above the fan selection. Are these what is needed to be replaced?
all fuses look good, all other interior lighting works.
I have a '92 230E so maybe things are different, but if the bulbs are "under electrical tape" it sounds like a patch up job has been done. Try to take a known working bulb from the heater/cooler dial (to the left and right) and see if it works.
Or call/visit the parts shop (new or used) and see if the electrical tape is supposed to be there, you may find that someone did a patch up job instead of replacing the bulb holders
