It's my daddy's car =) but he is driving our Lexus now, so I can drive this beautiful W124 =) .
But I want to do some changings. But I do NOT know, what is possible. I don't want to change the look of this beautiful car. I want to tune it, but decent. This means, someone, who doesn't know the W124 shouldn't see, that it is tuned. I don't want to tune much on the exterior. More in the interior.
My actual equipment is:
Alpine CDE-9850i (for my iPod - brand new)
Alpine D-10 Subwoofer (brand new)
Electric Windows in the front
Manual Windows in the rear
Normal tires -> nothing changed
----> nothing in this car is changed, just the Radio + Sound System, everything is from the year 1995.
How can i tune it in the interior?
For example the interior lights? Is it possible / easy to install?
I wouldn't go for that steering wheel cap.... actually I have a real factory wood steering wheel that I had in my 400E, and I took it off after a month, It gets too slippery and is no where as comfortable as the leather.

Can you have tinted windows in Germany? That color on your TE with the dark interior would look amazing with some tinted windows, and It would keep people from looking in at your stereo. I agree with you that the exteriors should stay factory looking since they are so beautiful... must be the German in my blood
I see in you avatar picture that the car has rims there, do you have rims on your car now? Really, your car doesn't need that much, I wish I had that stickshift you have in there... lazy americans never got the manuals here in the TE's.
Oh! I know! New rear lights! Rucklichts? Sorry for the spelling... There are some you can get that have smoke and red instead of orange and red... they look awesome, and they are hard to find here in the US but I bet you could find them in Germany a lot easier! With your color combination it would look fantastic, especially with the windows tinted

Nice "touring" Felix. The 2.0L engine must work pretty hard to move that car but the manual transmission would help a lot. You may not know that only the 1986 300E was available with a manual transmission in the USA and very, very few were sold.
I can't provide much info on tuning because I'm pretty dedicated to keeping my cars bone stock. I do have a question though.
I'd really like to get a set of the radkappen that you have on your car. I have a set of steel wheels with winter tires and old style wheelcovers on my 260E and the wheelcovers are damaged and ugly. The ones like you have look great and I wouldn't dread putting my winter tires on if I had some of those.
I've cruised ebay.de and see that the radkappen I want come up regularly. I tried to get a friend of my fathers to buy a set off ebay and ship them to me but he is an older guy, totally unfamiliar with ebay.
Do you use ebay? Would you be willing to buy a set in great condition and ship them to me?
As far as payment, we could figure something out. I have DM 350 left over from my last stay in Germany almost 10 years ago. I'd love to convert that to euros and something I can use.
One thing that is very important in a mercedes is the feel of the materials. I know that when I got my TE it had the rubber steering wheel, and I hated how cheap it felt. So I got a factory leather covered wheel out of a 190E that had the same style and it made the driving experience so much better!!! I did the same with the shift lever that was rubber and I put a factory leather knob in there....
It looks like your steering wheel might be rubber and not leather, it was hard to tell from the pictures. What you can do is go to a parts yard and find a car that has had the airbags detonated, and they usually don't sell the steering wheel and column to many auto shops so you can find a good deal then, that is how I got mine.
I would also think about getting some MOMO leather shift knob for the shift lever. I have a leather momo shift knob in my 1968 280sel 4spd and I love the feel.
