My comments about "shifting" the trans may have been misconstrued. I was trying to determine if the trans would go into first gear. That part of my question has been resolved; the car will start out in first if the lever is moved to the "2" range. As well, if the lever is in D, it does shift down to first if the accelerator is depressed to the floor. And, if I use more than a light foot on the gas, it shifts properly. I just don't understand why MB would do such a thing as start out in 2nd gear. Anyway, does anyone have first hand experience with Trans-X and/or the Lucas transmission additive?
