hi could anyone help on installing a new shift knob on the 1988 300 ce i just purchased the woodgrain knob looks great but i cant get the old one off im twisting it counter clockwise and nothing cant get it to move im afraid im going to break somthing if i put to much pressue any clues ???? thanks so much

There more than a few variations in MB shift knobs; try looking for a small set screw on the base of the current shift knob.
