My girlfriend wrecked her Audi A4. Now I am looking for a new car...
I am looking for a Diesel W124. I prefer either 1987 or 1995 3.0L Diesels, but would consider a 2.5L.
If any of you know of any good deals in your area, please let me know...
Thanks,
Chuck

Welcome to the club. Eighteen months and counting for me. Discounting of course the astronomical prices they appear to be fetching on eBaymotors, I continue to search for a reasonably priced well-maintained one myself.
My problem is I will only take one in close to the same condition as my vehicles, with records, and after a personal inspection with my mechanic. I think my standards are too high.
Maybe we should join forces.

i own a an 87' 300d with under 200k on the engine. I have been driving benz diesels since i could drive and i have been trying like hell to trade it for a 300e here in NY. im surprised theres a demand for this model because here i dont see much. Keep looking, its a great car and should last forever if you treat her well. Its not that i dont appreciate her anymore its just that i have yet to own a gasoline vehicle and after driving my girlfriends 91' 300E i fell in love with the quickness and after hopping back in my 300D i was remined of the 11sec 0-60 =/. Good luck and if your ever in NY feel free to buy or trade for my car lol j/k =)

Chuck,
I have a "cream puff" 1995 with 117k miles, smoke silver with cream MBtex interior. New brakes, new glow plugs all filters recently changed, one owner car. I will take 13,500.00 for the car, you won't find a better one in my opinion.
Ccorley, why on earth are you selling? I thought this was going to be your daily driver? Although I have considerably less in mine, it would take considerably more to make me consider selling!

Yea these cars will last a million miles but what with terrorists, natural disasters and the H5N1 avian flu pandemic... God help us there's anyone left here to drive them.

Heh heh heh, eleven seconds 0-60, eh? With a few tweaks, they can be coaxed to do the same in approximately eight seconds (mine does this). With a few more little nudges, they can drop down into the five second territory, or less.

Cyberbach,
How have things been your way? I don't and haven't planned on selling it. I LOVE my w124 diesel and would hate to get rid of it. However, at the right price, I would consider it.... I have had my eye on a little black convertable 2001 Carrera 4 Porsche at a dealership up the street from my house :-) I can't have 4 cars in my driveway, so one would have to go.
How is your diesel doing? Sorry I haven't been around in sometime, been real busy working etc... Actually, the only real reason that I am around at the moment is because I just received 20 stitches in my face from a kayaking accident:-(, ouch!
