What oil you are using in your W124

I see that in couple of threads are discussion about oil, viscosity etc.
I using Castrol magnatec 10W-40,live in continental climate.
Haven`t any prior experience with that oil in my 300 diesel.
What sort of oil you are using?

I saw on Mobil's web site that they recommend 0w30 for my 93 300e.
I agree that it sounds way too low.

I live in texas and I'm thinking of switching from Mobil 1 5w30 to Castrol Syntec 20w50.

I used to use conventional 20w50 in my Rabbit, and the pressure was great even in the heat of summer. Temps in Houston range from 35-50F in the winter to 90-110F in the summer, so I'm thinking that the higher viscocity would be good.

Maybe 10W-40 will be good.Castrol is making me very angry because their oil have different names in USA and Europe,i probably will change to Shell. It is very confusing.Even bottles are not same, here in bosnia are bottles from Asia.
