1976 300D w/70K (really!)

Howdy Folk,
I just bought this one-family owned 300D a couple days ago (pics). 70 provable K, air & most the rest. New compressor last year w/a rad rebuild two years ago. Owned by a slightly eccentric author in Houston (where I'm at)..
My 1st Benz, I've owned a Volk-D. Biggest problem I see so far is "tired" vacuum pressure, which I am hoping is due to tube leaks. There is a tube unconnected that I'll try & include in the pics. Tube & junction will be in far upper right corner, resting on the w/w motor. Also, the CC vac hose is removed & plugged. The door locks will accuate about 5Xs on risidual vacuum, but won't seem to accuate well while the car is running. Air will blow cold but "switched" itself to heat 1X so far.
Anyone know what those lose vac tubes are? Any ideas as to where to first look for leaks (and how if possible)... D'man

I figured where it went. If you look at the pic of the engine you'll see a round vac/block attached to a vac line, almost directly pointed at by the unattached vac line/t-junction. What someon did was unattach the t-junction and directly plugged the round vac/block into the line you see attached in the pic. I fitted it all together and drove it but don't notice much different.
The question is, why did they bypass the green tube going into the rear fender wall? What does that vac tube acctuate? D'

It's not a W123. Great looking car, though. I've got a '75 240D and love it. I think we're supposed to discuss this model in vintage.

Enjoy it!

Yes, I looked over the "Vintage" site and it seemed more like "looking for part#" central. When I went through some of the posts and comments, this area seemed much more what I had hoped to find and be a part of... D'

True enough...maybe the 123 forum can help more, the engine is basically the same in both bodies.
