What models and years had the Bose option? What did this consist of? This was not the active bass or the 10 spkr high performance, so what was this Bose option?
most had a simple four speaker system.
some had an upgraded 6 speaker system
some of those later 6 speaker systems had ten speakers, not six, but in the same locations.

i think that it was option code 677 or 877. some people on the forum have said they have the bose...and ebay is full of idiots stating their car has it. when the brochure states 10 speaker, or active base, thats NOT the Bose. Apparently, there was 3rd option on the special edition cars that had the bose..trying to find out about this...
My w124 had the six speaker premium audio system, but i gutted the entire car, removed all speakers and amps and replaced them with new ones and they did not appear to be bose brand speakers.
no our W124's have nothing Boss, Becker is used for headunits mainly, the speakers and the amplifiers are some unknown outside mid 90's manufacturer, which by the way were designed very well I was happy with my stock sound, untill I heard Alpine stuff.

I doubt the Bose equipment from back in the late 80's / 90's compares to their quality now a days. You'd be better of just changing everything out. I changed my old (non-bose) system out to some blaupaunt overdrive speakers (4" i believe) and i'm extremely happy with them.
The point of that is even if some cars came with them then it would probably be better to use something newer (+ MP3 CD) upgrade is an excellent way to go!
