Idle Control Valve

Hi Guys,

I bought a '90 300E (fully loaded :-)) with about 110k miles on it. It had low idle so I cleaned the ICV and the throttle body. The idle stayed about the same but the car started much better. Today, all of a sudden I turned on my car and the idle shot up to 1500 RPM and stayed there even as the car warmed up. On the recommendation of one of the board members I disconnected the ICV and the idle now ran at a steady 1000 RPM. Then I reconnected it and the idle went right back to 1500 RPM. This leaves no doubt that the ICV is at fault and needs to be replaced, correct?

Thanks, Andrei
