New here, and looking for a 124 wagon. Seen mostly 300TE's so far. Stumbled on a 1995 E320 wagon today. Is this still considered the W124 chassis? Any comments pro or can when compared to the 300TE variety? Thanks
The 95 E320 is about 17 -24 mpg , watch out for bad wiring harnesses on the engine , transmission slipping - delay when shifting to reverse - bad self leveling system ( rear shocks ) - front ball joint A arm wear . Check seats / sunroof - for motor - switch function.
Ain't nothin' better! Actually I'd be interested in the price... paid a little over market for mine last April - $8500 - but it had perfect records and came from a MB tech. It is my favorite machine in 34 years of car ownership, hands down.

IMHO, people are asking more for wagon than regular W124 sedan for its scarcity. When I shop around, I’ve never seen TE under $10,000 in SoCal (of course, the car was in good conditiona with most of maintenance records) while as I was able to find decent sedans around $7,500.

I watched a tan 1995 E320 wagon with 101k miles go for $6050 on eBay the other night.
My main curiosity is the change from 300TE to E320 Wagon. Looks the same inside and out, only difference is the engine?
Over the years various "cosmetics" changed as well.
Later models had different grille, side cladding, more wood in interior, changed style wheels, 2nd airbag, etc.
The "change from 300TE to E320" is just a name change. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with any mechanical changes. Everyone called them E-class anyway, so Merc started doing that, too. 300-class became E-class and 190-class became C-class.
