Timing Mark for 300E 2.6 ?

I just finished replacing a rebuit head on my 300E 2.6, since the chain had broken, I have to reset the timing, I have the service manual but it has no reference to setting the timing or locations for the timing mark on the crankshaft or cyliner head, I searched the whole forum but no one seems to have a specific answer, if you have any diagrams please post.HELP

Thanks

RE: Timing Mark for 300E 2.6 ?

Timing is set electronically.
The only thing you need to worry about I believe is the distributer shaft being aligned correctly at top dead center for a baseline. There is no way to set the timing.

First you have to set up the chain correctly, I need to know where the mark on the timing gear should be in relation to the TDC.

Thanks

Unless you removed the distributor body it will still be aligned with the crankshaft I think. .If you have changed the chain then there is a mark on the camshaft that alignes with the face of the cylinder head, and the tdc on the crankshaft is more visible with the pulley removed.
