Does anyone have information on the correct contents of a 1990 W124 tool kit? I'm certain the one in my car is short of (at least) the reversible screwdriver with arms for Phillips and flat head (FENO DBGM).
It currently contains:
• Maroon canvas wrap bag
• Hapewe pliers
• Heyco 19 (201581 0036)
• Klien - half of wheel brace set & spark plug spanner (123 581 0067)
• Heyco - half of wheel brace set & 17-10 socket (123 581 0001)
• 17-13 Walter (DIN 895)
• 10-8 Heyco (DIN 895)
• Small (approx. 12 cm) alloy tool. Threaded at one end, cross-hatch machined at the other (pretty sure this is non-standard)
Some time back there was a truly stunning signal red 300E for sale on ebay. The pics included the one below. I'd never seen the plastic bag so I grabbed the pic. It may help you.
The threaded rod is standard issue. It's there for wheel removal and installation.
You are supposed to remove one lug bolt, install the threaded rod, remove the other 4 lug bolts, and then slide the wheel off/on using the threaded rod.
One of those two rods is for holding the wheel while changing tires; what's the other one? And what size is the offset box wrench? Looks like it's for something particular.
It is an extension for the lug wrench, and the offset box wrench is a 19mm.
Looks like the extension has dual functions, possibly to act as an extension to use the smaller other end of the lug wrench.
Cheers.
Silversleeves, you've got more than the contents of one tool kit in you pic. As originally provided, the kit does not have any duplicate tools and you've got extra wrenches and a screwdriver handle at least.
In the pic I posted you can see that the plastic bag for the kit states which models it is intended for. Since wagons are not shown on the list I must assume that the kit for those is somehow different.
Also, note that the plastic bag says "m.Alurad" which is shorthand for "with aluminum wheels." So for countries where alloy wheels weren't standard equipment the kit contents will again be slightly different. Any euro member know what looks different to them?
The only duplicate in my kit is the philips screwdriver bit and handle.
Yes, the wrenches are a mixture of MB Heyco and some are MB Walter, but no two are the same.
That is all I know about this, I don't know what the original kit includes and this is the first time I have really looked at the kit. Of course there must be some difference from not only sedans but other wagons because of the 4matic
Cheers,
J.
Hello!I have a 89 300te,had to replace the rear suspension air cells, the rear suspension high pressure hose(in the engine compartment)and when I did it put wrong hydraulic oil in to the tank, the car was making noises like no power steering fluid so I flushed the system put the right oil in to it and i still having noise mostly when the car is cold ,it seams to me that the noise is going away if the car got more load or when is hot,is somebody noes a medication for this sickness?thanks
This is not the correct thread for SLS problems,,, but it sounds like you have air in the system, they will knock and bang and make all kinds of sound with air in them... you can bleed the air out at the rear level control valve by the back axle.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
