I sold my 1995 E320 with 142,000 miles to a friend of the family. First mistake! I have had trouble in the past with the engine wiring harness. Occasionally, the the ASR light goes on and the car goes into "limp home" mode. My mechanic repaired the harness and the car seemed OK. Of course, two days after selling the car, it happened again. The new owner went to a local shop who told her the throttle actuator and O2 sensor was bad and would cost $1600. to repair. I had warned the buyer about the bad harness. Do the throttle actuators go bad often? I am willing to pay for the wiring harness as I feel badly. I don't want to pay for something that is not needed.

In addition, the car needs an AC compressor and a AC mainifold? The shop says $2400. for this. I am not responsible for this as I told the buyer the AC was bad. Does $2400. seem right?

Thanks, Bob
