very tempting i must say. the whole car with the V8 fitted and suspension etc done with 17 inch AMG mono blocks would set me back about US$6 000 .... hmmmmm V8TE
oh yeah the V8 has an after market ECU and with the custom exhaust is 340hp
No time for talk. Get that V8 into the wagon! You will have a real sleeper on your hands.

no dont waste the V8 on a wagon.. get something like 300CE (coupe) or sedan.. drop in the V8..V8 out of 500SL is a M119 motor, get ur hands on a 500E tranmission and u r set up with ur own 500E
btw 340HP is a bit low for V8..beef it up for 400+ HP.. add a supercharger.. and now what u have.. a road flying machine!!
I was just thinking the other day how nice a 124 wagon would be w/ V8 power..No one would ever expect it!!
Just an aside, but fitting a blower to an M119 stuffed in to a 124 is damn near impossible..Ever looked under the hood of a 500E??? Nearly every bit of real estate is filled.

a wagon is different that's why I'd do one. besides I sold my 300CE earlier this year. if I wanted a V8 coupe I'd get myself an SEC ... oh yeah I've got one already [;)]
500E trans ... why? I'm talking 5 speed manual!!!! If the manual is to costly at this satge I'll just run the auto that the engine comes with.
and as for a blower ... no space is right ... so if I want my mechanic can do some head work and throw some wild cams at it ... way more than 400hp [:D]
