My 91 300e has the provisions for a CD changer on my stock becker cassette radio. Where can i obtain a trunk mounted unit or in cabin changer unit and am i bound to OEM goods for this one? Any help or links are greatly appreciated! BC[:)]
Try eBay, or the 'For Sale' forum or the 'Audio' forum. A lot of people upgrade their systems with aftermarket equipment and want to turn their old equipment into cash. Or post in the 'Wanted' forum.

Can you describe the connector in the trunk? Is it a 10 pin (with one missing as a key) square connector or a mini-din (round with pins radiating) connector?
Boy am I all over this thread! Have been unsuccessful in having anyone answer me why the CD changer was not/not offered from the factory in E300 wagons... Could be the brackets in the rear wheel well are using some telephony crap... who has fitted an after market one? I have an Alpine changer coming for Father's Day that I will probably end up laying flat in the back... $161 "scratch and dent". Can't wait!

I bought a cd changer for my mother's 95 E320 through Crutchfield, it plugged right into the factory plug in the trunk and interfaces with the stock deck flawlessly. Check them out online.

i read your comment about connecting an Ipod. How could one go abouts doing that? I have a 95' E320 wagon. Can you provide further details.
You're not asking me, but I just completed my install of the Monster icruze on my 94 E320 with the BE1492/1692. Monster had to do a software upgrade, but now it works perfectly.
It's a small box that sits between the ipod and the stereo. It tells your stereo that a 6 disc (playlist) changer is connected. You can use the stereo's controls to move to different playlists and tracks. Very nice, and sound quality is perfect.

Ah, there's the rub! Perhaps it is a problem unique to the 300TE (E320 wagon)? I notice you mentioned "trunk"... the cable in the wagon is in the rear right wheel well, along with a lot of other junk - antenna, telephone (or is it a Becker amp?), etc. There appears to be a mounting bracket, but it is occupied with the phone/amp thingie (scientific explanation).
The cable's there... but the unexplained mystery to me is (and I am quoting from the 1994 model year brochure): "CD changer option not available" in the wagons...
I bet it's because there's no place to put it. It'd get banged up in the back of the wagon. Funny that they ran the cable, though. Your 95 has either the BE1492 or BE1692, both of which easily control an mbus cd changer. I'd just find a place to put it. I'm sure it will work.
