Transmission slips and jumps out of gear when hot... Tranny svc. done - any ideas for fix?

Trans slips from 2-3 when cold, REALLY flares/slips when hot... Has been slipping bad lately and jumping out of 4 to 3 at highway speeds. I sometimes can get it to go back into 4th by accelerating, then very quickly releasing the pedal, forcing the shift. Sometimes this does not work, at which point I place it in Neutral, and then back into D. Then it will often drop to 2nd (at 50+mph)... then sometimes can get it to shift back into top gears by accel to redline.... Sometimes it will just start slipping, as if in N..

Is there anything I can do? Modulator adjustment? What is the procedure for properly adjusting the Bowden and Throttle cables underneath the Air Box?

Basically, is there anything I can do short of replacing the tranny?

Thank you very much for your time!

RE: Transmission slips and jumps out of gear when hot... Tranny svc. done - any ideas for fix?

If you have already done the fluid and filter change. I was told by a shop to try to adjust the modulator. On the driver's side there is a black rubber boot. Take it off and ease the pin back and turn it clockwise to shift harder. I just did the f&f service tonight, so I am hoping that works on mine and I don't have to try and adjust anything. Mine was slipping in 4th when hot. Filter was black but the fluid wasn't to bad and not metal in the pan. From what I have been reading in the owners bible. It sounds like your discs are warn.
