hit the road "jack"

not a very clever pun but whatever. ok im looking to get a jack for my home because i want to lift the car so that i can remove my tires. i want to remove the wheels so that i can completely clean it and so it will shine like my white... rear. do i just need a regular floor jack? anything specific that i need? should i get two or one? or 3 or more? where under the car should i place it so that i can lift the car just fine and so i won't damage anything. umm yea ok thats it. oh and i don't need a mercedes jack right if i just want to take off the wheels? and ill also need a lug nut wrench . i saw one on performance products , the 17 mm one. when i take them off... should i put new ones on???or keep the originals?

**edit**
oh yea i have a 1987 300e

RE: hit the road "jack"

go to sears and get a craftsman floor jack and 2 pairs of 2 ton jack stands. Anything that says craftsman will serve you well with a lifetime warranty w/o even a receipt in hand. The jacks cost about 89 and up.
