gauges dead and buzzer noise Any ideas?

Hello from Sydney Aust
Last night when I started my car a 300e I had buzzer noise emanating from instrument cluster. I then noticed that the gauges weren't working - oil, tacho fuel, temp. The buzzer stops when i use turn indicators (but gauges don't return to normal).
I have checked the fuses in the main fuse box in engine compartment but all appear ok. Has anyone had this problem or knows the fix?
Thanks in advance
David

RE: gauges dead and buzzer noise Any ideas?

go over those fuses again. one is bad or dirty. try spinning them. this will clean the ends and also allow you to see a possible cracked center. ps use ONLY ceramic fuses with copper conductors. the plastic ones melt. the tabs in the fuse box are copper and the 2 get along great. when you use the cheap aluminum ones or the american glass and steel ones, the dissimilar metals cause corrosion which leads to heat build up. not a good thing....
