buy the 500e, the newer benzes just don't compare to the car. the 500e provides you with amazing power with no drama and is a great benz for the driver. Once again the newer benzes have all the cool gadgets and are more modern but the 500e is a amazing car that will def. impress anyone. i bought my 500e in california and i looked at a few all over, it is hard to find a nice one and i was lucky to find mine on autotrader. i think the 500e is a legend and is one of the best benzes ever made. you really can't go wrong, just look for a nice one.

I have a W124 and an ML430 (same engine as the CLK430). I can't say that the W124 is easier to work in at all. The V8 is just as easy and on top of that, you have an OBDII connector which you can take advantage of with only a modest $65 investment (code reader). The engine on my ML430 has been far (by leaps and bounds) more reliable than either M104 engines I've owned. No oil leaks, no defective engine wiring harnesses, no vaccum leaks, etc.
Just my experience....
If you want to own a classic and stand out from the crowd, then the E500 is the correct choice. If you want an more modern vehicle with an overall better ride and value the green bills in your wallet, then keep the CLK.
