Fuel pump is only when the car is running and that's a slight hiss/whine too. Huh. I'm stumped.
Trumpets? Like the instrument? Like Louis Armstrong style? Blues? Jazz? Or concert classics?
Are you parking close to any graduation ceremonies or high school marching bands?
Really, I'm stumped. Trumpets....hmmm....
Everything I can think of should be a faint hiss/whine or the clunk/click of locking mechanisms.
-Tubs

My old fuel pump used to sound like everything... loud buzzing, whistling, growling, etc... I replaced it and the new one sometimes produce a (very quiet) sound (uhmm...[:)]) resembling a trumpet... altough this in said to happen very rarely, may be your fuel pump relay remains stuck at the "on" position after shutting down the engine?
And, after shutting down the engine and the key in ignition position (but the engine turned off), I can hear the f.p. relay and fuel pump activated from time to time.
