Yes,

Do you know the wire codes for all the factory speakers?

Wire codes? You mean the colors of the wires? Or which pin they are in the connector? Is this an "active bass" system?

RE: stereo wiring 300e help

Hello,

Yes, the color of the wires. I know there are six speakers in the car, 2 in dash, 2 in front doors and 2 in rear deck. As for bass system? I'm not sure, i'm removing a non factory cd player unit which does not list any wiring diagrams.

RE: stereo wiring 300e help

There are FOUR different wiring diagrams for Model Year 1990. We need to nail down which one you got. Ones with/without factory six speaker set up and when "Late Production" or not.

Left speaker ground should Brown
Right speaker ground Gray.

The feed to the fader in the center console varies from there.

Left + is Black/Green or Grey/Brown
Right + is Black/Red or Brown/Red

RE: stereo wiring 300e help

just take the car to a stereo shop and have them rewire the stereo. should sound better when its done, especially if you are changing the head unit.

you should leave the door speakers alone if they have their own amp though. just have them wire the outputs of the stereo directly to the speakers without using mercedes' wiring.
