Water from A/C under floor mat

Last night, I pulled the passenger floor mat from my 1987 300TD to inspect the Anti-theft Control Unit. I noticed some significant moisture at the very bottom of the foot well that had me concerned I had a leak.

I mopped it up and got everything dry, then left the foot well open to the air.

The first winter rains began a few days, ago, but yesterday was warm enough to operate the A/C, again. It poured down rain, again today, but no leaking from the rain is apparent.

Is it possible that the A/C condensation is leaking into the passenger footwell? Also, is there a way to flush that system, so it doesn't smell like mildew when I first fire it up?

Thanks, in advance, for your replies.

RE: Water from A/C under floor mat

Your A/C right side drain tube is leaking. Easy fix.
I did it once but I don't remember steps. The thing is that the tube is made of foam with a steel wire core. The foam desintegrate with time. Replace with a plastic one. Do other side as well. Sorry I can't be more helpful. But at least you know your problem now [:I]
