I am (as many people who post new threads seem to be...) new to mbnz. I'm the owner of a '95 E320 Sedan in fantastic condition. I saw the painted grill on one or two of the photos. I was thinking about replacing my grill, but I like the idea of painting it a lot better - do you have any suggestions about grill painting? (ie: special type of paint, should I buy a second grill so that I have the original still in existing condition, any specific procedures that I should follow when painting, etc)
Well if you like the look go for it! piece of cake to do and a cheap fix! The grill will come off very easy and with a little masking tape to cover up the chrome then all you need is a can of spray paint. Believe it or not I used BBQ "Grill" paint! was not a gloss and not a flat black but sort of semi gloss and so far seems to be holding up very well![:)]If the grill is not all busted up it will almost look like new when done. I just spruced up a 260 E that I just bought for resale and the black against the white really set it off! The car sold after 3 days![:D][:D] Good luck!!!
I believe that is menaceboy's grille, it's quite sharp. I believe it was an expensive process though.
