Wheel alignment settings

Hello,

Can you give me the correct caster, camber and toe-in settings (with tolerances) for the front axle and camber and toe-in settings for the rear?

Thanks in advance,
Shady

Hello,

Without looking at any chart searching my [mental archives]...

Front caster angles- set at maximum positive caster both front tires, especialy if you enjoy exceeding 100 miles per hour a lot... [helps with high speed stabilty/tracking issues]

Both front tires "equal" on caster, altered ever so slightly if the majority of roads you drive have a high crown or center, one half degree less positive caster on the wheel or side of the vehicle riding the crown [high spot] mostly...

Both Front and Rear camber angles- Negative one degree all tires...

Both Front and Rear toe-in angles- Negative one degree for loose/worn suspensions...

"Nuetral degree" [neither positive nor negative] toe-in for tight updated suspensions...

The steering system can have the slack adjusted by loosening the big lock nut on the steering gear box, and turning the adjustment screw "counterclockwise" to compensate... do not forget to retighten the locking nut...

Sorry I do not know the caster/camber/toe-in degree adjustments translation into minutes...

P.S. If anyone adjusts the gearbox on GM/Ford/Chrysler American products, turn adjustment screw "clockwise"...

I hope this helps...

Thanks.

RE: Wheel alignment settings

Last night, I did a computer-aided wheel alignment. I turned the eccentric washers on both camber and caster bolts, both sides, to their extremes, and still couldnt get a satisfactory alignment. The front wheels still have a bit of negative camber, and caster is a few minutes less than the least preferred value. Do I simply need to replace the bushings, or is it a bigger problem?

RE: Wheel alignment settings

not much you can do with the rear wheels apart from offsets and a good garage will set the front to the rear for tracking
