Experience with 'Ecotek' device on W124

Hi Fellow Members,

Just wanted to find out if anyone has ever installed the 'Ecotek' device on a W124.

Its a British product that is connected to the intake manifold. Its supposed to create turbulence to the air-fuel mixture to give better combustion. This product is claimed to give better fuel economy and lower emissions.

Would be interested to hear if anyone has installed the 'Ecotek' and what was their experience using this device.

unfortunatly ecotek is in court for copyright abuse "turbulence" even though the system works it must be set up on a rolling road for good effect

I am curious about this device... teky what do you mean by 'rolling road'? Does anyone know where this device gets installed? I cannot see exactly where it might go on a M103...

From Ecotek's website..

In other words you get a better bang - or more bang for your petrol. This makes acceleration smoother and more rapid...... improvements in petrol consumption of 15% are commonplace......Another benefit of less pollution is less exhaust and engine corrosion
Don't you think that if a device costing £60 could give more power, a 15% improvement in petrol consumption and lower emmisions that maybe, just maybe one of the major car manufacturers would have added it to every car they made?
If something seems to good to be true....

I was curious as well about the Ecotek device. But as Jasper said, if its that great the manufacturer would have included it in their design (unless they didn't want to pay copyright) [;)].

I'm sure we have all come across the wonderful 'medicine man' automotive products like fuel magnets, intake air swirler just to name afew. Most of the time, they fall short on their promises.

But looks like so far no one has installed the Ecotek device on a W124. I think it is supposed to be fitted on the vacume tube between the intake manifold and the brake servo (the long tube that stretches across the top of the engine and radiator fan).

a rolling road is a a term used to test cars to the max to tune them up all it does is allow the car to be driven on rollers to get the best settings out of it, the ecotec valve in my view is now in a gray area to to the word "swirl" which it dosnt do at all and because of that word its in court, so im leaving it alone till they sort it out you dont want to put anything on there unless its proven you could damage your engine and void any warrenty because its a modification
