Non functioning AC and cruise control

Hi all,

Thanks to this wonderful forum I got my car rid of the problem of the coolant puddle .....
it was the water pump .....the labor costs were exorbitant but at least it is fixed ...........

I also have a few more problems :

1) The air conditioning does not work , how ever the heating does !

2) The cruise control does not work at all, I have tried it a zillion times and it does not work at all.

3) I hear quite a lot of sounds which i think are coming from the front suspension and it is getting increasingly louder any ideas how i can check the suspensions front and rear of the car ,

any advise will be greatly appreciated

thank u again all for helping me solve my previous problem !

regards

mayukh

RE: Non functioning AC and cruise control

First, be sure all your fuses are intact; look closely, some may seem OK but actually be busted.

1) May just need a recharge. You'll want to start there and check for leaks.
2) Cruise control amp?
3) Get the car on a lift and look under there. Pay close attention to all the rubber bushings and ball joints. Make sure your springs are OK (probably) and your shocks/struts still function properly (may or may not)

RE: Non functioning AC and cruise control

The cruise control on my 124 was not working and the cause was a bad relay. Cost $24 The A/C I am not sure of.

On the air-cond, see if the clutch engages on the compressor, you may have to bypass the pressure switch safety. Then watch the sight glass for flow and a change in temp. on lines in and out of the compressor / in the car. That way you will have an idea on what could be broken and not go for the $1000 dollar rebuild.
