Ok, guys, I need help with this. I have a '94 E320 with, I'm guessing, us spec headlights.
Now, I've seen the '94 and '95 E500 headlights and really like the way they look--foglights not integrated into headlight housing--and would really like to swap in those headlights and replace the ones that are there currently.
I realize that with these headlights I would also have to replace the front bumper to incorporate the foglights that would be relocated there, which I planned on doing anyway because the front bumper is cracked and starting to chip.
However, in researching this topic and in preperation for the swap I've noticed that people refer to those headlights as euro spec and us spec. What, if any, difference is there between the two and which version would I need?
Also, on a sidenote. What in the hell are standing lights? I've noticed the markings just to the left of the headlight switch in my car indicating the standing lights, but I'll be damned if I know how to use them. I looked it up in the owners manual, but the description and use of them were about as cryptic as first trying to understand the hvac controls. I think VW/Audi cars have them as well.

It's a European thing... not very popular in the US. They are basically parking lights. These settings are for the driver to activate either the left or right taillight only. Some streets are dark and narrow in Europe, and cars parked on these streets for the evening need to have the taillight closest to traffic lit up to alert drivers negotiating these streets.
