RafMAR, In the photo of your "Raised 1987 200T", the side panels look to be black rather than grey. Did you have them painted, or are the panels available in black. I just put new wheels on mine and suspect black side quard panels will show off the monoblock look-alikes better than the standard grey.
Hi Glenn,
Yes, you're right, I have them painted. I do not know if they have them in black.
I agree with you that all black panels will show off your 'monoblock' way better... and the chrome trimmings as well.
Now that I've put a few miles on these rims and tires, I can share the following impressions: The Falken Ziex 512 is off the hook: as quiet as the OEM Mich MXV and a serious wet road grabber... serious! I hit a huge pothole (obscene geologic anomaly is more like it) doing 90kmh and I’m thankful to the Benzworld member who counseled me against 18 rims – I would have had to replace two of them already.
Not wanting to have my shiny new rims spotted on the roadside on an otherwise disabled car, I took it in for server and had a few big ticket repairs done; something that made me think about insurance! At Ten years old, with a new transmission and lots of care and money invested, I’m looking into insurance products that will pay out what the car is worth, not what I could get for it in resale. SO far I can tell you, Insure.com has a good bit of info on vintage car insurance… Some of you may want to check it out.
