O.K. fellows, I've submitted photographic evidence that my heart was smashed up by a speeding idiot. I looked for a circa 1993-95 300TE to replace my prize, but without success. I had 280,000 miles on it and repairs would run at least $8,000.00. I'm still torn and plan to strore the car until I can more rationally decide what to do (I don't feel comfortable spending so much to repair it, and junking it is out of the question...).
In the meantime, I got a 2004 E320 wagon. Does this mean I have to go to the back of the class and join a 210 forum? After all, this is a "Wagons only threat," albeit a W124 wagon thread. Please have mercy on my soul. Minimally, let me post a few photos after I get rid of those stupid 16" wheels, tint the glass and lower the suspension.
I immediately changed the stock wheels. The OEM 16" wheels and 245/55 R16 tires where ugly and ride like a mini-van. I got 17" alloys and the new Faulkin 912 (245/45 R17).
I which I could have found this car without 4matic... I want to lower it, but I can't find springs that are compatible with 4-matic.
I got my new wagon after the TE-24 pictured a few pages ago.
The new one is a beauty, all original with quite a lot of options.
300TE 4-Matic, 1989, 134K miles.

Anyone know of any options.
Is it my idea or your new wagon just turned into an E500 ....

Wow love the background in the first photo.. Where do you live?
Hey thanks! This is Switzerland. behind me in this Picture is Anzère and Montana Crans, and on the other side are countless ski resorts. The town below is Sion.
There is my former TE-24 in this picture.
I think this thread just turned into 'wagon pics only' to "Hey George, when can we come visit?"
Nice spot! Nice view! Reminds me of my younger self working in Telluride, CO and seeing this type of view every morning when I wake. Man, I love your place!
I have a mechanic/friend who is trying to get a good deal on the repairs to the body work on the 1993..., IF I can get it fixed for $5,000.00US, I will keep in. Otherwise, I'm going to try to get the car to someone who will use the parts. Even with 280,000 miles, that car was amazing. I only wish it had more power. Anyway, I got the windows tinted on the E320, so I'm starting to feel very comfortable in the 2004.
The steering column is on the wrong side, but otherwise the car looks fantastic. I love it that at 250,00o miles, one can reasonably expect to continue driving these vehicles for another 200,000 with only a fair amount of diligence and maintenance.
