We love them here too, particularly the late diesels, but we have to make do with non-turbocharged diesel engines because of RHD. Petrol is now at about $7/gallon and diesel costs more than that...
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I, like many others on this forum, am a station wagon, er...excuse me, estate wagon, nut! I love'em. I'm jealous of all your diesel wagons. We only had the 124 diesel wagon for 1987 model year, after that, always a 300TE. Oh well...I love them just the same. My current estate wagon (now you've got me saying it) is a 1988 300TE in dark blue non-metalic and with a gray tex interior. I just love it! Bolide, I admire you for running a sales lot limited to Mercedes estate wagons. Glad you're on the forum!

Allright, I have finally taken pictures of my "new" '89 TE. I have been working on getting it dialed in since the night I got it a few weeks ago. Mine is in great shape with real leather and the third seat, although it has less wood than my 400E. I have added Mobil 1 oil, new cap and rotor/spark plugs, Euros clear corners, Bi-Xenon HIDS (6000k), Factory Mudguards, HD Bilstein Shocks, Michelin X-ice winter tires, Alpine CD with ipod and Sirius, 15" sub with audiobahn amp, and infinity speakers.
As much fun as the 400 was, I love this wagon, I really really like having all that space that can be used in so many ways... now I just have to get the rear suspension fixed... It rides fine, it is just that it doesn't seem to rise all that well when under load... I bled the system and there was lots of "air" bubbles in the oil... maybe my accumulators went bad? I was quoted for $70 per side for the accumulator units... this seem fair for wholesale cost?

I notice you removed the headlight wipers. This is a job I'd like to do as well, do you have any more information on how you did it? I am concerned about leaving live wires etc... Thanks!

Wow, I would love your wiper arms! The US arms are shorter so I can't use them with my euros. It is very easy, all you do is pull the wiper arm down towards the bumper top... they pivot this way, then there is a 10mm nut holding the arm on the wiper motor shaft.... now, all you have to do is remove the headlight assembly and disconnect the wiper motor from the bottom of the headlight bucket which i believe has 3 10mm bolts and also to unplug it there as well... very simple process.
Bought this two weeks ago...loving it.
1990 300TE champagne with beige.
260,000 km and looks and drives like brand new.
I had a 200te in Italy for a while which was fantastice so I bought this one for home (Sydney, Australia).
The wheels blind innocent bystanders as i pass them by!

Do you have a trailer hitch on there? Is it the european style ball or is it a receiver for a ball?... I would like to get one of these for my wagon to tow small trailers... what is the towing load?
