Biggest Tire you can mount on a 88 Wagon?

Ok, i got 265/40/17's on my rear, they are getting pretty worn out and i am thinking about going with 275/40/17, perhaps even 285/35/17, if this Size even exists.
What do you Guys/Gals think?
Will these Tires fit?
Anyone have any Input?
Any Comment is apreciated!

275/40/17 sounds ok. I have no idea of the modifications you may have made so I cannot tell you for sure if they will fit... The diameter difference from stock is not too bad though. 285/35/17 sounds hard to find. I would hate to have to find a replacement tire if I punctured or damaged one beyond repair.

Thanks for that.
The 285/35/17 is not really that hard to find around here, but i know what you mean.
I think it is going to be the 275 then.

Well, finally did it and guess what?
The 274/40/17 doesn't fit, looks way to bulky.
I installed the 265/40/17 instead, looks awesome.
I'll throw in some Pics soon.
(just thought, i will update on this matter)
