w123 230 and M111 Kompressor

Dear All!

I have found a 230e with a faulty gasket. I have heard of the above upgrade and I would be grateful if you could tell me if it is really possible without catching a headache.
My idea is of a little sleeper. It would be nice sprucing up the performance with the newer engine.
Finding a donor car for engine, box and loom/ECU is not difficult. However what has to be custom made for the conversion?

Many thanks in advance

OM604 into W123

Seeing as the M111 uses the same engine arms as the OM601, but not the same as the M102.

if you are putting an automatic in the car, a 722.6 gearbox and an controller for that one might be an option,
oleFejer in denmark makes those for example. you might have other guys on the other side of the pond.
New 722.6 Gearbox in you old Car | Mercedes-Benz turbo

if not, and going for an automatic, getting a diff from like a 300turbo w123 (3.07/2.88) might be good to get the RPM down a bit, Dieselkraut here on benzworld might be able to get you a 3.07 if you ask nice and say hi from me he has shipped to me here in sweden from Sacramento- California

(a 4speed automatic with 1:1 and like a 3.58 differential would be a pain in the ass in my world, especially if you get a torque happy supercharged engine in there.

If I were to install a M111 into my W123, I'd go for the 6-speed manual And I'd find my some ABS-capable W126 steering knuckles and an electric speedo, and calibrate said speedo to work off said ABS sensors à la W202.
