How do you check climate control crossover valves?

I have read ever post on the subject, and still don't understand. maybe someone here can explain it to me like i'm a 4th grader? You hook the mitivac up to the where and you do what? Thanks

My suggestion is to pull and twist the short vacuum lines.
If they pull or twist easily then replace.
Then check out operation.
