Putting old MB steering wheel on my 81

I have recently bought a 1981 300td wagon and was wondering if its possible to replace the factory steering wheel with the old 60s model steering wheel?

Do i need a boss kit or some sort of adapter?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum - Nice question - good question!

I don't know for sure - so I'll add what information I know =>

The W114 / W115 models were the "change over" model these had both the newer type looking steering wheel and the older one that you want to fit.

Looking at the EPC on EverythingBenz - Mercedes-Benz Forum and Web Search Using Google I can see that the W123 steering column is different from the W114 / W115 one - I don't know if the splined ends of the columns are the same or not though.

Have a look for yourself =>

That steering wheel definitely belongs in that car. Do it!
