Is this why my oil pressure gauge does not work?

My oil pressure gauge does not work. Yesterday I was under the hood doing a valve adjustment and oil change and noticed this while replacing the oil filter.

Is this the connection for my oil pressure gauge? The PO stated that it had been disconnected but did not know why. One of the forum members stated it was possible that it was disconnected because it leaked at the dash.

As you can see its disconnected and the line is plugged.

no, that would be why lots of your vacuum components don't work.

your oil pressure gauge is connected between the lower edge of the oil filter housing and behind the dash. perhaps the connection at the dash was stripped or bad and oil started spraying into the driver's compartment? just guessing...

What kind of components? Inside the cab I notice that none of the lights for the ACC work or sunroof. The light for the fan control and windows do though.

More than likely your power locks don't work. Has nothing to do with lights.

You have a couple of issues. Do your dash lights work? The ACC has four bulbs, sounds like three of them have failed.

The sunroof light is part of a fiber optic set up. If the other buttons beside the sunroof light up, it's probable one of the fiber optic "strings" is not in place.

If the oil pressure line was plugged off, you'll see that when you remove the dash cluster. The other end is attached to the oil filter canister housing, see pic.

I do not believe the power locks work. But most of them "stick" anyway.

The dash lights do work, they light up when you turn the key waiting for the Glow Plug Light to go off so I can start the engine.

On the ACC the only light that works is the toggle one used to control the fan speed.

None of the top lights work including; Antenna, Rear Courtesy Light, Rear Defrost, or Sunroof.

I have not got behind the dash cluster to investigate the oil pressure gauge.

Is having that part disconnected and plugged only affecting the power locks then?

I bought a Chilton manual and I have to say that thing is useless. Thanks for all your guys help with my questions.

Okay, the rheostat is working. The buttons you describe that don't light up are all part of the fiber optic system. It's just one bulb with a "spider" item plugged into that and numerous "legs" or "strings" branching off going to those buttons. You'll have to pull the panel to get to it.

As far as I can tell, that one unplugged unit is for the locks only. What color are the plastic lines coming out of the back?
Yellow? Maybe a yellow with a red or green stripe? Those are the locking lines. These cars have a history of lock failures.

Okay, I know exactly what you are talking about. They are the black thin lines that go into the switch. I saw those when I had taken out the sunroof switch to investigate why wouldnt work all the time. I took the switch completely apart and saw that the 2 brass balls had fallen out of position. Repositioned them and put the switch back together and it works great now. I dont remember seeing a bulb down in there but I wasnt really looking for one at the time either.

The bulb in question will not be visible, you need to remove the spider itself, it fits over the bulb, it pulls off and pushes back on.

It does seem to be just the door locks. The other lines are green/yellow to the HVAC unit and brown to the ignition switch, but they are on a different vac supply.

You're welcome.
