i got surprised again to look at a w123 ELECTRIC VEHICLE tested in late 80's
these were the words one of the w123 enthusiast
""In early 1982, Mercedes-Benz began testing electric drive systems in passenger cars. This 123 T-Modell largely corresponded to the production version but its load compartment was reduced in size to accommodate the nickel-iron battery. Engineers were actually challenged by the size and the 600Kg weight of the batteries as well as by the very limited range (around 100 Km). ""

here are the pics and what do you say guys isn't the w123 evergreen car !!
:):):):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Rerererererererepost!

A lot of electricity was nuclear then as well. Still alot of power is coal generated, especially in Southern US.

Roughly half of all power in the US is still coal-fired. I just laugh at all the greenies that protested and threw fits in the 70's to fight nuclear power. So much contradiction it just astounds me.

Second, they talk about the "OVERWHELMING DESIRE FOR ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES." The hoaxers claim it's better for the environment. The owners claim they don't have to buy gas (but aren't considering the doubled/tripled/quadrupled electricity bill).

Oh well, will just ultimately get the ones who learn their lesson to buy a w123 :)

Well, if you're the kind of person who buys a new car every 3 years or so (none of us here, obviously), it is more environmentally friendly. Even if the electricity comes from coal, the electric car is still much more efficient at using energy that it driving it ultimately produces less pollution. I think.

what is coming out the exhaust pipe?

Regardless, very cool. The same motor with a modern battery system would probably fit in there pretty easily. The finish is very nice as well, look at the windshield washer reservoir.
