So I drug home another one: My Euro 1980 280CE Project

Well, it happened again.

The first time I saw this gem was about 10 years ago. It was often parked on a street corner along my daily commute. It popped up on Craigslist about 2.5 years ago. I went to see it, but it had issues. Lots of issues. It showed up again about 1.25 years ago, by the next owner. It had a lot of work done, and the guy wanted less than the first owner that put it on Craigslist. I passed. Then, it showed up again last week. Same car. Yet another owner had done more work, but the price was less than half of the second time around!

I went to see it, and thought it over. It was just a little rough to be in the "sweet spot" (and, it didn't have a 5-speed like the guy put in the ad, but I knew that from the first time I saw it). I decided, if it was still there a week later, I would see it again. It was. Couldn't believe one of my PDX M110 brothers hadn't snapped it up yet. The second time, I took Ducatipaso with me. Today, I came to terms with the seller, and drug it home. It drives OK, but it was a long trip in an unknown car.

btw i found to get the mfg date you take out one of the silver relays and look at their date stamps, on my US 280 the month is exact match to the door sill stamp.

no 420, it must be stick

Don't worry, I won a pair of euro tails from ebay a couple of weeks ago. They arrived in great shape.

And, you are right: it is a 4-speed...
