Fuse Box Location

This is a stupid question Where is the fuse box on a 1983 w123 300D? i removed the left right dash panels looked under the hood.... I found some fuse talk on the forum but no one says where it is. I just got the car and it didnt come with a manual

On the firewall, under the hood, by the hinge,, 2 thumbscrews.

FYI,
It can be tricky getting the fuse box cover off and on after a doding it several times you get the knack. I pull the rubber seal above the fuse box off about a foot that is makes it easier when dropping the cover back on.

thanks ! i actually figured it out shortly after i posted. i had seen that thing before but never figured that a fuse box would be so secure. i wonder if mercedes ever had a sticker there or maybe they figured anyone who paid 30k + in the eighties would take it to the dealer no matter what went wrong...

why do you have that setup for your blower motor fuse?

1991 190E 2.6
1986 300SDL
1977 300D
1983 300D
