I guarantee that the Mercedes if its still around today is in better condition than that pile of crap BMW.

Do the painted parts have a wholly different part number than the original items? I'm curious to find out.

Very much doubt it for a few reasons:
AMG did their own blacking out of the chrome parts, very few if any period AMG parts are available today from MB
Remember even the hubcaps come unpainted, so you have to paint them the colour of your car.
