why is that? they are different beasts. i really like my E30 and there's no 80s or 90s benz that compares
I agree, and might I say you have quite the nice cabrio specimen there *drool*. I passed up the opportunity to own a 90 325 cabrio a couple months back. Still have my 325is, but her whole front rack went to sh!t, therefor just sits
Since the topic is on bimmers, I'll plug in.... with an e36 M3 I enjoyed with pride.
MB will always be numero uno for me, but a pristine old skool e30 or e36 is a strong valued corrival.
One good ride in this different type of German beast and many contradictions will be erased.

I did not know how rare it was, but I have seen and heard one, a silver-green W123 AMG wagon, owned by a registered Importer in California, as his personal vehicle, the car has the metal AMG build plate on the door jamb and the vehicle is authentic. The engine sounds like a '60's American muscle car

Yes, the car is owned by Barry, over at Richmond Mercedes. He's the importer. I talk to him regularly, and him and the wifey use the car to fetch groceries, and bring the dogs to the groomers.
He told me of a woman he knows with a flawless, original AMG, 280CE (Like the red one pictured) living near him.
She is not aggressively selling the car, but wants $110k for it, if she were to encounter a serious buyer. I've recently kicked around the idea, of making the investment. I may, if the car is still available, in the next few months. Her husband bought it brand new, and Barry imported it for him. The husband passed about ten years ago, and the car has barely ever moved. Barry said the car has less than 20 thousand miles on it, and is like th day he brought it into the country. I've forgotten what year the thing is though..
It could well be the same red CE spotted that day?
anyone have more info on the current owner of this 500ce?

this is a common failure. retrofit an E36 rack, go M3 if you want. they're substantially better, cheaper and you can reduce your lock to lock if you want.
