The auto tranny is fine. There's just too much work involved in doing a tranny swap. Do a search on the forum about the turbo diesel auto to manual swap and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Enjoy what you've got.

yea the guy who documented it was very detailed and it just looks like alot.
but i do have two now, so one can be out for the count. once i get working in a dealer in a couple years im sure it will look simpler. that'll give me time to find an affordable five spd

Sheesh Viper, you're a student and you've got FOUR cars ?! What's the secret ?

Congratulations on the new purchase. Now, if the Euro is so much better, are you still going to drive your US CE?

Lucky, and in one of the coolest MB colors to boot.

For euro light adapters, they are the same as what is in the trunk to hookup up tail lights.

Does that car have any wacky EPA conversion stuff on it? I'd be interested in some High Resolution motor shots for reference.

no epa stuff that i know of, only a cat probably. it has no thermo vacuum sensors on the block like my 81 does. it still has two hoses comming in the side of the cis housing but they come from below, where my 81 had them comming from the ac lines over the block. and yes, no air pump or lines going under the exhaust manifold.

nice find nutz, i was wondering what those rims would look like on it

and frans, i get some help in the purchasing department.(i just added what i paid for all four, $3700) when its done i really want to start driving it, but i would hate to get rid of my 81 cause it has such low mileage, and the inside of the engine is spotless compared to the 200k+ miles on this new one

vipercrazy,
I have the fire extingisher bracket your front seat should have two bolt holes where it mounts too. I removed it from mine and have no intentions of re installing it. I think it will just get in my way having the fire extingisher. The plastic straps that hold the fire extingisher are broken also.
It's your's free if you want to pay for shipping. It would be easy to adapt a fire extingisher to it. It out in my truck right now. I wil take a pcture of it with my cell phone and post it in a little while.
