I have a 1980 300D.
My sunroof is a really slow when sliding back and forth, and I am wondering how difficult it is to repair this problem? Do I need to tear out the headliner and replace a motor? Or is it just an issue of adding a little WD-40?

You need to clean and re-grease the sunroof tracks with M/B sunroof grease.
Remove the drive cable, clean and re-grease.
Clean the cable tube back to the drive motor.
Assemble and enjoy. About 1.5 hours.
