Hi guys. I'm in the process of fixing all of the issues on my '85 300TD. One of the issues I'm having is with the climate control. Right now I can only get either full blast AC or full blast heat. You can imagine it's kind of a pain to have to switch back and forth manually in order to regulate the cabin temperature. Any thoughts as to what this is? Is it that little temperature regulator box thats back behind the control panel? Thanks.
Probably the hose that goes from the servo to the in car temp sensor. Either its off or disintegrated to the point of not transferring the in car air temp to the servo. Remove the glove box liner and follow the foam hose from the temp sensor, top center of the dash, to the servo. If intact, then I would suspect the push button control head. Years ago on my 300CD, I replaced that hose with a piece of PCV pipe the same diameter and wrapped it with garden pipe insulation. Has worked great. Do a search on this forum regarding climate control or MONO valve. You should get a wealth of info re: troubleshooting this system.
